Invitations have been mailed, so make your plans and RSVP to attend this year’s induction dinner celebrating the Class of 2022! We will gather on Saturday, November 12th at the historic Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC for this celebrated occasion when new inductees are formally sworn in, repeating the oath of membership before friends, family and Fellows. The elegant Shoreham Hotel will be the perfect venue to host this event, as we come together in our black tie best to honor the newest College members.
Situated in the beautiful Woodley Park neighborhood of Northwest DC, the Shoreham opened on October 30, 1930 with a fabulous party attended by over 5,000 guests. Over the years, the hotel hosted many famous entertainers and Hollywood stars who performed in the Shoreham’s legendary Blue Room, including Aretha Franklin, Bob Hope and the Smothers Brothers. The hotel hosted more than Hollywood elite though. Prolific politicians, such as Presidents Harry Truman and John F. Kennedy were considered regulars. And in March of 1933, Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s inaugural ball was held at the hotel, the first of twelve different inaugural celebrations.
The College’s room block is now open and accepting reservations for the weekend of November 12th. Please use the link below. In order to receive the negotiated rate of $189 per night, reservations must be made by October 14th.
